Critters
(This page contains a lot of images and may take a while to load.)

I didn't see nearly as much wildlife as I expected to see on this trip.  Normally, I see a LOT of wildlife in Rocky Mountain National Park, from little pica to elk herds and bighorn sheep.  I did see some elk herds from a distance, and I did see a pica (he was much to busy to pose for a picture), but not a whole lot of other animals.

One notable exception was ravens.  I saw four different ravens on this trip, and I failed to take pictures of any of them.

You can count on seeing chipmunks and ground squirrels at Rainbow Curve

Fast moving and furry

A ground squirrel that refused to pose.  He must have known the pica.

This chipmunk ventured out to where the good junk food is:  the sidewalk

Turning tail

This jay was hungry, but I would rather he ate natural food

Another shot of the jay

This is the only deer I saw, and she was by the roadside near the campground

Another shot of the deer

And one more for good measure
